Jodhpur is yet another major city of Rajasthan after Jaipur and Udaipur. The city has an airport and good railway network for connectivity to the major cities of the country. The city boasts of having the descendants of Royal family taking care of the majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace, which by the way is also TripAdvisor rated Best Hotel in the world on its Traveler’s Choice list. The palace is quintessence of Royalty. The Palace built for Maharaj Umaid Singh, initially just had a museum open to the public, and years later part of the palace was converted into a Hotel. Most extravagant weddings (both Indian and NRI) have been hosted in the stately grandeur.

Venue suggestion is complete without mentioning the Regal Mehrangarh Fort, which has a beautiful history associated to it. Only a small portion of the Fort – Chokelao Terrace, is open for weddings though. The city also has a number of heritage properties like the Ajit Bhawan Palace, Balsamand Lake Palace, Indana Palace, ITC Welcome Hotel, Taj Gateway and Taj Hari Mahal. For a complete experience of Rajasthan (its culture and food), Nirali Dhani has also hosted an array of weddings.

Also, you get beautiful lehengas, sarees and suits with intricate designs that look both traditional and elegant. The beautiful bandhani and leheria prints will definitely steal your attention. The city is a hub for handicraft industry and thus you can have a huge variety of favors and return gifts to give to your esteemed guests. There are dozens of places be it religious sites or hill stations close to Jodhpur so that your guests could even extend their stay and explore the close by locations.

There’s an idiom “when in Rome do as Romans do”. That could be applied here as well. When you have planned to get married in Jodhpur, we suggest you take the celebrations a notch higher by giving themes to the celebrations that speak volumes about the Imperial Wedding Affair. Rajasthani Carnival or Royal Rajwada could be possibly used in the wedding. if you are still not convinced, how about a magnificent combination of traditional and new – Modern Rajwada decorations.
